Discussion and Justification: | Continuing professional development is an essential component of any successful career. It involves engaging in both planned learning and reflective activities to ensure that the knowledge and skills of professionals remain up to date. Continuing professional development is an ongoing process that enables professionals to stay abreast of industry best practices, hone technical skills and competencies, and maintain professional networks. It is important for professionals to remain committed to continuing professional development journey in order to stay competitive and successful in respective fields.
Continuing professional development is essential for me as an HR professional to ensure that I am up-to-date with the latest trends and research in the field (learning journal entries and continuing professional development given in Appendix 2 and discussion meeting with Head of HR on the review and use of continuing professional development Cycle, Reflective Practice models and Emotional Intelligence in Almarai). Reflective practice models offer me the opportunity to reflect on my experiences and identify areas of improvement, while emotional intelligence allows me to take a deeper look into how my emotions and those of my peers can impact the workplace (Watson, 2019). All of these skills are crucial for me to be successful in my role.
Continuing professional development helped me stay informed and knowledgeable, and is key to my success in HR. By continuously developing my professional knowledge and skills, I can stay ahead of the curve, and be ready to respond to the changing needs of my workplace. Continuing professional development helped me to stay connected to the latest industry news and trends, and enables me to advise my colleagues and management on the best strategies to use.
Planned learning is a key component of continuing professional development (Todd, 2020). It involves taking proactive steps to acquire new knowledge and skills, such as attending seminars and workshops, taking courses, and engaging in self-directed study. This type of learning is important to stay current with the latest research and industry trends specific to Almarai.
Reflection is another important aspect of continuing professional development (Smith, & Mitchell, 2022). It involves taking the time to reflect on experiences and learnings in order to better understand strengths and weaknesses. Reflection also helps identify areas that need improvement and develop strategies to enhance skills and competencies. Reflective practice models provide me with the opportunity to pause and reflect on my experiences, and identify my strengths and areas for improvement. By regularly engaging in reflection and self-assessment, I am able to develop my skills and competencies, and better serve my organization.
Emotional intelligence is essential for me to be successful in my role. By understanding my own emotions and those of my colleagues, I am better able to foster a productive and collaborative workplace environment. Emotional intelligence helps me to effectively manage conflicts and navigate difficult conversations, which is essential for any HR professional like me.
In conclusion, Continuing professional development, reflective practice, and emotional intelligence are essential for me and other staff members in Almarai to succeed. Continuing professional development enables me to stay informed and knowledgeable, reflective practice models allow me to identify my strengths and areas for improvement, and emotional intelligence enables me to better understand and manage emotions in the workplace. In addition, similar practices are also recommended for all staff members in Almarai. |
