Attending lectures on performance management
With the world of work continuously transitioning owing to the technologies development, remote working has contributed to improving knowledge and skills by self-development. I intend to pursue lectures on performance management for appreciating reasons this could assist improving performance and behaviours. Performance management is a challenging undertaking and navigation. The process change constantly and new approaches of work coming up. My learning insights from the lectures entailed performance management effectiveness. This is a progressive undertaking where we engage and come up with objectives to be pursued (CIPS, 2023c). The manager provides development opportunities and feedback for assisting individuals in improving skills. I have acquired insights that organisations are supposed to implement performance levels regularly. This provides a chance for understanding strengths and weaknesses and focusing on areas of development core input for performance in my work environment. From my past experience, annual performance management was being provided. After learning this was insufficient, I recommended the need for implementing frequent performance management prioritising on a personalised ideas including objective setting and evaluating if all goals have been attained in a weekly manner. The outcome of this was an increased performance and efficiencies in my current entity. All engaged individuals possessed self-confidence in managing challenging issues as prompt feedback had been sourced. By performance management, I improved my overall performance. I intend to apply this knowledge in implementation of performance management aligning employees with organisation objectives. The core factor of performance management is aligning employees with entity objectives collaboratively. This can be noticeable by increasing satisfaction, performance, developing skills and efficiencies. Attended seminars on critical thinking and problem solving skills From a general context, working as a people practice professional , it is important maximising my performance, reducing errors and building each other for appropriate outcomes. In my current organisation, a plan had been introduced for all people to pursue training seminar in a frequent period of 6 months. The seminars intended to facilitate the employees with knowledge and skills to ensure they are improving performance and behaviours. The course pursued was in the area of critical thinking and solving problems. I acquired insights on the necessity for embracing critical skills being a professional for making holistic decisions informed by facts and evidenced. I was able to learn that critical thinking is important for analysing entire facts and concluding. It is not appropriate jumping to the conclusions in decision making but sufficient time need to be taken for establishing the relationship of facts and arguments. The necessity for this is reduce errors and performance improvement. Problem solving also represented a major area for discussion in the seminar. I possessed a feeling that it is important improving this area to assist my teams improving their operations. The problem solving skills assist in identifying and exploiting overall opportunities in field of operations. I apply the identified skills in. appreciating my environment occurrences, change areas and noting solutions appropriate. The disadvantage of this is that organisations are not found operating in a vacuum owing to the changing organisations dynamics. Hence, through an embrace of problem-solving skills, this assist me in managing complexed challenges particularly in regard to organisation initiatives. This assist me in improving overall performance and approaching these issues. Learning through a podcast A different learning strategy in past 10 months entailed attending to different podcasts. The areas of interest were on ethical initiatives pursued by an entity. The ethical practices are core in people practice professionals. This is since employees understanding organisations unput have their commitment on executing the appropriate thing and high-level likelihood of improving motivation, engagement and emotional entity success. Executing the appropriate thing assist building positive relations and acquiring trust with all. In an event people are engaged with their feelings with anger eliminated, poor performance is evidence. Besides, integrating ethics in organisation culture leads to positive behaviour and often an increase of personalised and entity performance (CIPD, 2023). I use the ethics obtained in ensuring that I work on the appropriate thing and assume responsibilities for my entire options. I ensure I am not blaming the rest for my failure. The disadvantages of this include the activities lacking sufficient time to pursue all of them. Also, different financial constraints are encountered and affect success in work-life balance. Often, I use my free time in reading books as opposed to going out for off time.
